Aromatherapy massage

uses a range of natural aromatherapy oils blended according to your needs to calm the senses, enhance physical and emotional well-being and relieve stress after a difficult day.

Anti-cellulite massage

aimed at removing toxins and excess fluid, eliminating cellulite, aiding venous return and providing higher oxygen levels to your cells. It helps to increase metabolism and reduce body fat stores. With physical activity and a balanced diet, the treatment effect will be noticeable after 10 sessions.

Pregnancy massage

brings many benefits for your health and well-being such as: relaxation, releasing muscle tension, swelling prevention, relieving back pain. If mum remains calm and relaxed, her baby can only benefit. Please note: It is not advisable to have a massage during your first trimester of pregnancy. Contraindications to Massage

Massage is non-invasive, relaxing and natural. It is therefore generally considered a safe treatment for most people. However, there are three types of contraindication:

TOTAL: when massage should not be performed at all.
LOCAL: when massage can be performed but not over the contraindicated areas.
MEDICAL: when massage can only be performed once medical permission has been granted.

The following restrictions are in place to protect your health and well-being. Thank you for taking them as seriously as we do.

Total Contraindications:
When you have any of these conditions, please do not book a massage:
● Fever
● Contagious or infectious diseases (including colds and flu).
● Under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including perscription pain medication.
● Recent operations or acute injuries.
● Neuritis.
● Skin diseases.

Local Contra-indications:
The therapist can massage but not over any areas affected by:
● Varicose veins.
● Undiagnosed lumps or bumps.
● Pregnancy.
● Bruising.
● Cuts or abrasions.
● Sunburn.
● Undiagnosed pain.
● Inflammation, including arthritis.

Medical Contra-indications:
If you suffer from any of the following conditions, massage can only take place once it has been approved before your session in writing by your Physician.
● Cardio-vascular conditions (thrombosis, phlebitis, hypertension, heart conditions).
● Any condition already being treated by a medical practitioner.
● Oedema.
● Psoriasis or eczema.
● High blood pressure.
● Osteoporosis.
● Cancer.
● Nervous or psychotic conditions.
● Heart problems, angina, those with pacemakers.
● Epilepsy.
● Diabetes.
● Bell's palsy, trapped or pinched nerves.
● Gynaecological infections.

Does a contraindication mean that treatment cannot take place?
Not always. In fact, massage can be very therapeutic for many medical conditions. However, in the above cases it is best to have advice from your physician. Massage therapists, unless they are also qualified doctors, may not, under law, attempt to diagnose a condition.

CANCELLATIONS

In order to minimize disruptions to the schedule, 24 hours notice to change, cancel or reschedule Massage Therapy appointments is required. If you do not notify us 24 hours prior to your appointment, you will be responsible to pay for the full price of the scheduled appointment. Cancellation fees are in effect to ensure that we are compensated for our time. As a busy business we often turn away clients, please keep in mind that if inadequate notice is given it is difficult to fill vacant spots, this not only negatively impacts us, but also affects our clients.

LATE SAME DAY BOOKINGS

Please be aware that when booking an appointment on the same day, it is considered set, and if changed, cancelled or rescheduled at any point after it is made, the client is responsible for paying for the full price of the appointment.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please do not arrive earlier as there is no waiting room so you would need to wait outside or in the car. Also please do not arrive late as I will not be able to extend the length of the session.

PRIVACY POLICY

What is Personal Data?

Personal data is defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) (the "GDPR") as 'any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier'. Personal data is, in simpler terms, any information about you that enables you to be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers. From 25th May 2018, the new Data Protection Act 2018 came into place, and we need to inform you what data we hold about you, why we need it, what we will be doing with your data, who we might share it with and when we will destroy it.

What information do I hold, why do I have it and who might I share it with?

Currently we hold a completed consultation form and treatment records with your details. These include your name, address, phone number and email address so we can contact you. Consultation form and treatment records include your health related data so we have a full understanding of your medical and health history. This we need for insurance reasons, but it is to check that it is safe to treat you and to understand what medical issues you have and how best we can treat you. Treatment will not go ahead unless we collect and store these details.

How, where and how long do I hold your data?

It is a condition of our Insurance Policy to take and retain client records for at least 6 years following the last occasion on which treatment was given. In the case of treatment to minors, records shall be kept for 6 years after they reach the age of majority (18). After 6 years following the last occasion on which treatment was given, I will destroy all of your records by shredding them. We keep a paper record of your patient information, then consultation forms and Treatment records are kept in a locked filing cabinet within my house, and treatment records are maintained on a password controlled laptop. Only I have access to these records and I will take all appropriate steps to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability and authenticity of your data.

My Rights

In exercising your Individual Rights, you should understand that in some situations I may be unable to fully meet your request, for example if you make a request for me to delete all your personal data, I may be required to retain some data for taxation, legal, regulatory and insurance purposes. You should understand that when exercising your rights, a substantial public or vital interest may take precedence over any request you make. In addition, where these interests apply, we are required by law to grant access to this data for law enforcement, legal and/or health related matters.

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which I process your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK’s Data Protection Supervisory Authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
