● Before our appointment I recommend you have a relaxing bath that cleans your skin, initially releases tensed tissues and prepares your body for therapy.
● Please wear comfortable clothes such as shorts and a thin top or underwear.
● Please provide two large and one small bath towels. We will use them to cover the massage table and parts of your body which are not being massaged at that time.
● Please ensure appropriate temperature and lighting in the room where the massage will take place.
● Do not worry about the rest. I provide a massage table, massage oils (including aromatherapy oils), relaxing music and other essential equipment for therapy.
Before we start the therapy we will discuss your concerns and your needs. I provide a free 15 minute consultation to find out more about you and your lifestyle and carry out a posture assessment and other functional tests (time of the next sessions is counted from the moment of entry). The consultation will help to get an overall picture of you in order to determine the most beneficial therapy and treatment to suit your needs.
This is necessary to enable your body to be treated as a whole. Sometimes the cause of a problem can be located away from symptoms area. The therapy is much more effective if the condition is treated, not just the physical effect.
In my practice I employ Deep Tissue Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Tigger Points Therapy, Functional Massage, along with stretching techniques and many other techniques contributing to help release, relieve and stretch trapped and contracted/shortened tissues.
I can also treat healthy people who just want to relax and revive their mind and body, and need a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life by treating themselves by relaxing massage.
You will find more information concerning my services in the treatments tab.
● Please take time to rest, relax and reflect after your treatment. You may feel both relaxation and tiredness. You may also have a slight headache or dizziness.
● Please drink at least one glass of water in order to flush out the toxins which are disturbed by massage.
● Sometimes you can see a noticeable improvement during the session but sometimes it happens later. Symptoms can persist for up to 2 days, which is a normal reaction from your body to the increased stimuli. Please do not worry but let your body’s system promote healing.
● Please be aware of any changes in your body after treatment, reflect on how your body feels and take care of yourself. Then we will discuss it, assess the results of the treatment and make a further goals over next appointment.
